Brazil's first safety GPS.
The risk of any street, neighborhood, or route, calculated in under a second — from green to red.

A proprietary database of millions of geo-referenced crime records, fed by verified sources and continuously updated.
Risk Index and Safety Index
A scale from 0 to 10, from dark green to bright red. The reading is instant — anyone understands it without needing an explanation.
Real time
With location enabled, the app continuously monitors the user's surroundings, updating the index every 10 seconds or whenever movement exceeds 100 meters.
Route lookup
Enter origin and destination: the app splits the route into 200-meter segments, assigns a Risk Index to each segment, and displays a color-coded line on the map. The summary can be exported as PDF or shared via WhatsApp and email.
Privacy is part of the design: raw location coordinates are processed locally on the device and are never stored on the application's servers.
Precision geo-intelligence, data no one else has
Google Maps Platform
Built on the Google Maps Platform, with high-precision geospatial processing — each map cell is about 150 meters.
Proprietary database
Unlike solutions based on crowdsourced reports — subject to bias, delays, and manipulation — Anjo da Guarda runs on a proprietary database of verified records. The source and curation of this database are the platform's core asset and are not publicly disclosed.
Geographic risk intelligence infrastructure
Anjo da Guarda licenses its risk engine via API and white-label for the sectors that most need reliable safety data.
Real estate market
Safety differences between adjacent neighborhoods rely on word of mouth. → Risk Index to price assets and guide buyers with an auditable, traceable index.
Insurers and reinsurers
Actuarial pricing models still rely on ZIP code alone. → Geo-referenced score with granularity down to 150 meters for home, auto, and business policies.
Retail and franchises
The risk of a new storefront is only known after the lease is signed. → Risk profile assessment before signing the lease, reducing claims, theft, and turnover.
Logistics and delivery
Routes optimized only for time and distance ignore risk exposure. → Route planning that factors in the Risk Index of each segment — essential for night deliveries.
Corporate fleet management
Lack of visibility over field teams. → Real-time monitoring of high-risk zones, with proactive protocol activation.
Fintechs and credit
Geolocated credit models without a reliable urban risk variable. → Risk Index as an additional variable to assess the operational risk of a location before extending capital.
Condos and property management
Private security investments based on perception, not evidence. → Camera, access control, and security decisions backed by objective data.
Government and urban planning
Prioritizing lighting and policing interventions without a structured database. → API to identify risk hotspots and prioritize public investment.
Business models
- API access, priced by query volume
- White-label platform licensing
- On-demand geographic intelligence projects
Roadmap
City expansion
Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Mexico City, and Lagos are on the radar after consolidation in São Paulo.
Proactive alerts
Automatic notifications when entering high-risk zones, without needing to open the app.
Multi-tier B2B API
New recurring revenue layers via API for the sectors served by the B2B2C model.
Replicable architecture by design
The risk engine was built to be adapted to any city in the world without rebuilding its technological core.
Johann Almeida

An AI architect from São Paulo with more than 30 years of IT experience at large companies and consulting firms. Johann built Anjo da Guarda from a simple conviction: the information that makes a city safer already exists — what was missing was the intelligence to turn it into something anyone could use.
Thiago Salgado

A technology executive with more than 20 years of experience leading engineering, architecture, and cloud organizations across highly complex multinational environments. Throughout his career, he has built and scaled high-performance, multi-site, multicultural teams, with a focus on developing leaders and successors. He operates at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating business objectives into consistent delivery — modernizing platforms, embedding AI into software development, and managing Technology as an investment portfolio. Recognized for measurable results in cost efficiency, availability, and productivity, he combines executive vision with technical depth. He moves naturally between the decision-making table and solution architecture, always driven by sustainable impact and people growth.
Our mission
Anjo da Guarda is a Brazilian urban safety intelligence platform. Its mission is to democratize access to risk information, empowering anyone — from pedestrians to fleet managers — to make safer everyday decisions.
Press release
Anjo da Guarda launches Brazil's first "safety GPS": a platform that translates, in real time, the risk level of any street, neighborhood, or route in São Paulo into a simple visual score — from green to red. Available for free as a PWA and in native Android and iOS versions.
